We all have questions. Big and little ones alike. Why did I lose ______ in that car accident? Why can't I seem to get things right? What is causing me to react that way when I get angry?
If you don't have any questions... It probably means that you've checked out a long time ago.
One of the more popular questions that I've ever had to deal with is, why is there so much suffering in the world and inside of me?
My point of this post is not to answer the question for you, but ask you a question in return.
Because some of you know the answer to that (or your) question. You refuse to believe it. You would never verbalize it of course. But for some reason, you enjoy living in the tension and the suspense.
There a few reasons, I believe, for our refusal to follow what we know is true. 1) Too Abstract. It all becomes a giant mind game and we check out. 2) Deep down, we love the feeling of struggle. It gives us worth. And so on.
Here is my challenge to you. Search and be diligent. Find your answer. Probe. Whether it be the Scriptures, your Dad or your college textbook. Find the answer.
It's not that it can't change your life, you will not let it.
