Who you are...

I know that a lot of what troubles young minds like myself today is self-image. What do people think about me? Am I an enjoyable person to be around? Does it even matter the kind person I am?

Here are a few things that we should think about:

- I think someone can take this to an unhealthy extreme. For example, living your life wondering at every conversation and social interaction if the people enjoyed being around you. Wrongly thinking that everyone is thinking about you in reality they are thinking about themselves.

- I believe that the person you are powerfully effects the message you have. A few broad examples, qualifications to be a leader in the early church were to be above reproach, respected and trustworthy. So yes, it is a meaningful task to work towards being a person of forgiveness, patience, and trusting.

- Further more on point two, nothing will turn your listeners off faster than knowing the fruit (or lack therefore) of your life.

And if you find yourself in the Christian tradition, your life should be marked by a constant putting others before you. It's a big red flag when I grow tired of being a selfless server to others. When I am constantly looking for ways to put me on top or constantly trying to prove how I am right or justified...

Just thoughts...
