Random Thoughts as of Late...

I apologize for the lack of posting but here is what is on my mind lately....

- LOST is back. I have more questions than answers.
- I am interning under Josh Carney at UBC
- Josh and I are reading A Prophetic Imagination by Walter Brueggemann and I really like the book
- I find myself always wanting something... Never seem to be content in the moment
- I think I'm going to live without a TV next year.
- A friend of mine has changed my Facebook password so I can't access it
- I love alone time to think and reflect but too much of it will drive me insane
- Sociology, for the record, was a good choice as a second major.
- for you theology people, read Paul and Caesar: A New Reading on Romans by NT Wright

And for a really good quote....

"In a religion of immanence and accessibility, in which God is so present to us that his abrasiveness, his absence, his banishment are not noticed, the problem is reduced to psychology." - Walter Brueggemann

I think this quote is saying that we have made God our buddy. That he never disagrees with us. He never opposes our decisions or thoughts. When we get stuck in a rut, it must be because we are depressed. But God's freedom enables him to act and even act against his own party/people. I think we should be really careful with how we conduct our lives and how we make God our parties mascot, always accepting and never condemning. Just a thought
